Old Naples is the heart of the city of Naples. The Naples Hotel consisted of 20 rooms and was called the Haldeman Clubhouse, as most of the guests were friends of the owner, Walter Haldeman.
Until 1927, Naples was only accessible by boat for Haldeman's celebrity friends who enjoyed ideal winter weather relaxing on the beach and deep sea fishing or big game hunting in the cypress swamps. Then in 1928 the Tamiami Trail was completed through Naples and the town was ready for serious development. In 1949 Naples incorporated.

The Old Naples area is bordered to the North by the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Course, to the South by the Aqualane Shores boating neighborhood, to the East by the Tamiami Trail, and to the West by the Gulf of Mexico beaches.
Year after year Old Naples is one of the most sought after locations to call home. Most residents refer to Old Naples as their 'Paradise' as it continues to fulfill the dreams of a very wealthy and diverse population that calls Naples "home".
Old Naples offers all within walking distance, including the shopping areas of 5th Avenue South and Third Street South, the finest restaurants on the coast, golfing, numerous marinas on Naples Bay, and of course, the subtropical beaches of the Gulf.
